A Historical Fiction Novel by Kate Quinn

Bookended by the start of Word War II and the Royal Wedding in 1947, The Rose Code follows three very different 20 something year old English women on their various paths at Bletchley Park, where the nation’s brightest minds secretly broke Axis code.

Inspired by real people and true events, author Kate Quinn weaves a tale following Beth, a timid girl living in the shadow of her iron-fisted mother; Mab, a pull-up-by-the-bootstrap kinda gal from the wrong side of the tracks; and Osla, a multilingual, Canadian debutante linked to a young and handsome Prince Phillip (years before his engagement and marriage to the future Queen Elizabeth), as they bring their unsung talents to the war effort.  The war has thrown these three women together forging a deep alliance, but it also tears that friendship apart, until days before the royal wedding, when Osla and Mab receive a ciphered letter from an insane asylum, where Beth is making a last ditch effort to save herself and uncover a traitor in their midst. Will love of country be enough to resurrect an old friendship and solve one last puzzle?
